Analysis of Trace Elements in Water Using Axial Plasma Observation and a Combined Pneumatic-hydride Generating Sample Introduction
The multi-elemental analysis of water is one of the major applications for ICP-OES. This report demonstrates that the SPECTROGREEN TI has all the required analytical capabilities in terms of sensitivity, precision and accuracy to perform the analysis of waters.
The SPECTROGREEN Twin Interface option enables the accurate determination of alkali and earth alkali elements without the need for ionization buffering by using the instrument’s radial mode. Trace elements are detected with high sensitivity using the axial mode. Instrument parameters and line selection are described. Low detection limits for the hydride generating as well as all the other elements were achieved. Excellent precision and recoveries were determined for a spiked sample as well as a certified reference material.
